Job Title: User Experience Designer
Duration: 6 Months Initial Contract with potential extension
Location: Ashfield in combination with remote flexible working arrangement
Pay rate :  $600 per day + super
Pay rate cannot be exceeded, please remain within approved pay rate

Description:

About the role
The User Experience Lead directs and undertakes research and user-centred design activities on digital projects, contributing to the department’s aim for consistent and user-friendly online services. Working in a lean, agile, and customer focused environment, you’ll use your creativity, user design thinking, and excellent digital design skills to continuously improve the end-to-end user experience.

As the User Experience Designer you will contribute to and apply the user experience standards of the Department to new and existing digital services. The role develops and shares expertise and insights from user research and testing. The role champions quality and consistent user experience with business partners and across the digital services team.
You will have strong project management skills, capable of managing work priorities and completing multiple projects within agreed timelines.

Key Skills / Experience
  • 3 - 5 years of proven experience working as a User Experience, Interaction designer, User Interface and Visual designer.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and iterate rapidly on designs while gathering feedback from a variety of sources.
  • Proven experience in using Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Sketch, Invision, Principle and similar wireframing and prototyping tools to produce low-fidelity, high-fidelity designs and rapid prototypes.
  • Proven experience in gathering requirements, facilitating workshops and translating customer needs and business requirements into working solutions.
  • Digital Product background with a passion for understanding customer motivations and business processes.
  • Excellent communication skills to bring stakeholders on the journey.
  • Proven domain knowledge of design frameworks such as Human Centered Design, Service Design and Web Accessibility Guidelines.
