Our client is an Australian privately owned and operated technology services company making technology innovation simple through IT solutions. By developing a number of platforms, products, and integrations they have developed a deep understanding of the technology, organisations can use to overcome their unique challenges.

Specialising in bespoke  mission-critical systems, our client has supported some of Australia's largest organisations with technology architecture including key system architecture for some of Australia's largest Telco's, creation of tolling platform for nationwide construction company, and enabling leading organisations to integrate with and leverage from global product vendors such as Apple, Google, and Amazon

Details of the role & responsibilities: 

This role is responsible for leading a Technical Development team comprising a number of developers. The role manages and mentors developers (people), assists the Head of Engineering in defining and improving the development SDLC (process), and contributes to the Solution Delivery Development strategies for projects and initiatives to ensure efficient software delivery (strategy). 

What you'll do:
  • Takes ownership of Application / Platform
  • Design technical POC, system artifacts such as wireframes, process and workflow designs
  • Be a people leader and mentor, ensuring to pass on your knowledge and expertise to your team
  • Coach, motivate and empower the team to work towards team KPI’s and company objectives
  • Directing, motivating, and mentoring team members and those working in delivery capacities with customers
  • Initiates and drives improvements to SDLC that result in benefits to our client or customers (e.g. improved quality, improved efficiency)
  • Champions best practices in development processes
  • Clarifies roles and responsibilities and works with HR to document position descriptions for all direct reports
About you
You'll bring to the role your energy, passion, and professionalism, and you will have:
  • Minimum of 8 years experience as a developer in a technology environment
  • Extensive experience in development in one or more of the following and not limited to Nodejs, React, Angular, Redux, JavaScript ES5/ES6, HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience working with Application Servers (such as JBoss / Apache or similar)
  • Sound and in-depth understanding of SDLC principles, OOP, design patterns, unit testing
  • Expertise in API design/delivery using one or more RESTful, SOAP, or GraphQL interface
  • Proficiency in RDBMS (MySQL Server, MS Server, Oracle, or Similar)
  • Experience in cloud technologies, platforms, and tools such as AWS, Azure, and GCP Desirable
  • Experience with agile and lean methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe)
  • Experience working with SCM tools (GIT / Stash / TFS)
  • Experience working with build and development tools (Gradle / Maven / Jenkins / Sonar / TFS)
