Acusensus has developed world-first technology to detect drivers who illegally use mobile phones while they are behind the wheel, at speed. Mobile phone distraction is a leading source of road trauma, unaddressed by most jurisdictions.

Their technology provides prosecutable evidence to authorities as a deterrent to the use of phones by drivers with the aim of reducing crashes and loss.

The Opportunity:

You will be joining an existing Software Development R&D team within an ever-growing organization of around 50 people spread across Melbourne, Sydney and USA.

This is a chance to get to work on cutting-edge technology that will allow you to not only develop your skills across the .Net landscape but also have a direct impact on reducing the potential tragedy and trauma related to distracted driving on our roads.

What is on offer:

On offer is a Mid-Senior Software engineer role focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining upgrades, updates, and extensions to their existing platform. This role is paying a competitive salary range + bonus and equity.
You will be working on:
  • Real-time camera enforcement system software (detect vehicles, trigger cameras, sensor fusion, application of machine learning, image processing),
  • Machine learning infrastructure, testing, and training,
  • System monitoring solutions, alarms, user interfaces,
  • Interfaces to other systems,
  • Development of secure image review systems
  • Unit testing, integration testing, and other quality assurance framework development
What you will need:
  • 5+ years software engineering experience
  • Exceptional software engineering skills in at least one of C/C++, C#, or Java
  • Experience working within a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Experience working in a software development team with close collaboration and code review processes.
  • Zero tolerance for distracted driving and other dangerous driving behaviours
Bonus Points:
  • Experience in sensors, image processing, and/or machine learning favourably regarded.
  • Experience working with Terraform.
