Senior Finance and Reporting Analyst/Officer
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 30/09/2021
Pay Rate to Candidate: $400 -$450 per day
Site: Paramatta 

Primary purpose of the role
The Senior Finance Business Partner provides financial support to the Authority and its Divisions by providing transaction, budgeting and financial reporting services and assisting with preparation of financial statements. The role is also responsible for maintaining strong and effective partnerships with these Divisions to promote the achievement of financial and broader organisational objectives.

Key accountabilities
  • Deliver high-level strategic, tactical and operational financial advice and support to the Authority’s Divisions to enable and ensure sound financial advice and planning within the Authority.
  • Provide expert quality and timely reporting and analysis to the Authority to support decision making and manage risk.
  • Prepare, develop and quality assess all of the Authority’s Monthly Management Reports, forecasting and budgeting as well as the preparation of all Financial Statements.
  • Undertake monthly accruals and journals and provide suggestions for continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.
  • Reporting monthly data into Treasury’s Financial Management Reporting System (PRIME) and working closely with the Audit Office of NSW as the point of contact for queries relating to the Authority.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including divisional executives, act as a subject matter expert and partner with each team on various financial change and reform projects to ensure the success and delivery of the Authority’s objectives 
  • Building financial models and providing forecasts based on various operating metrics to support financial reporting and analysis of performance for Divisions within the Authority.
  • Recommending and Implementing process for improvements to budget and prepare forecasting for various Divisions.
Key knowledge and experience
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in accounting / financial management. CA or CPA qualified.
  • Relevant industry experience in NSW Government – at least 3 years’ experience
  • Extensive skills and experience in financial and management accounting including budgetary preparation/monitoring, forecasting, accruals and journals and financial reporting
  • Extensive experience in the PRIME financial system
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to provide advice to senior management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have a strong continuous improvement mindset – identifying opportunities to develop and/or improve existing processes, generating ideas, and implementing solutions
