Northbridge Recruitment is looking for a driven and talented Project Manager to work within the Local Government in Queensland on a 12 month contract with a view of extension.

About the role
Reporting to the Program Manager – Project Management Office (PMO), based predominantly on the project site, the role involves full end to end management of every aspect of this Flood Restoration Program and Flood Mitigation Project.

  • To effectively and efficiently manage delivery of the Flood Restoration Program;
  • To effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure positive project outcomes;
  • To provide strategic, financial, legislative and policy development advice;
  • Provide competent management of human and financial resources; and
  • Deliver critical project milestones on time and to budget.
Key responsibilities
  • Delivery of the Event 12 Flood Restoration Program using contemporary project management practices;
  • Provide leadership, advice and guidance to the construction team and staff assigned to delivering the project;
  • Provide leadership, motivation, development of a multi-skilled team and ensure resources are efficiently and effectively managed whilst engaged on the project;
  • Ensure transparent and effective financial controls are maintained during delivery and reported regularly;
  • Coordinate effective resource management and procurement strategies to ensure the appropriate labour, plant and materials are sourced in accordance with Council’s Policies
  • Ensure accurate project reporting is completed in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Project Management Plan;
  • Ensure effective communication and liaison processes with key stakeholders including Queensland Reconstruction Authority, the community and directly impacted residents, Councillors and associated user groups are implemented;
  • Provide advice and assistance to Unit staff on complex and political issues relating to the program;
  • Ensure Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Assurance requirements are met in accordance with current legislative and Council Policy/Procedure requirements at all times;
  • Adherence to all Council’s policies and procedures as relevant to this position; and
  • Carry out other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time.
