Purpose of the role:

Accountable for developing, leading and managing the delivery of a strategic capability from design to benefits realisation and operational embedment. Establish strong stakeholder relationships, use exceptional negotiation and influencing skills to bring together stakeholders from across the organisation to develop and deliver enterprise level solutions and outcomes.

Key accountabilities:
  • Planning. Work with the executive sponsor and executive steering committee to evaluate designs, formulate the solution, and develop the roadmap to deliver the strategic outcome with optimal efficiency. Understand the implications of different choices and guide internal stakeholders to the solution.
  • Benefits Management. Lead the development and identification of the benefits from the strategic program, and structure and align the underlying projects and program to ensure clear and aligned objectives which lead directly to the realisation of the business benefits.
  • Program Governance. Develop integrated governance routines for the entire strategic program, inclusive of decision making, risk and issue resolution, and reporting through to the Group Executive Team (GET) and Board.
  • Strategic Program Management & Project Leadership. Be accountable and provide leadership and guidance across multiple projects and/or workstreams. Provide quality assurance against the program scope, cost, schedule and outcomes, ensuring disciplined and high-quality delivery across key compliance and project management standards. Ensure program meets or exceeds budgeted costs and financial objectives.
  • Vendor Management. Manages the strategic aspects of large engagements, ensuring competitive procurement, negotiation, and quality assurance procedures take place for all program deliverables to mitigate risk.
  • Risk Management. Identify, respond and manage all associated risks, assumptions and issues on the program and within projects and workstreams. Reviews status reports of Project and Program Managers and address issues as appropriate. Implement and manage interventions to mitigate risk.
  • Dependency Management. Lead the integrated development of project and program schedules. Drive program routines for on-going dependency, resource, and risk and issue management.
  • Stakeholder Communication. Develop and provide regular communication and engagement with business leaders, GET and Board. Report on progress and provide senior level resolution to allow potential variations to be promptly addressed and solved. Maintain stakeholder confidence through robust and disciplined project management, adherence to budget, and delivery of enterprise solutions.
  • Change & Comms. Lead the formation of effective and integrated change management and communication activities across internal and external audiences, target groups and stakeholders to ensure outcomes are delivered and target state is sustained and operationalised.
  • Project Closure. Ensure that completed programs/projects undergo effective handover and operationalisation to ensure the strategic intent is achieved. Ensure Post Implementation Reviews, and any learning is retained for the benefit of future projects.
About you:
  • Qualifications in Project Management (MSP, Prince2, PMBOK).
  • A range of experience in Transformation and Program Management, ie minimum of 15 years
  • Tertiary level qualifications at degree level in business management or related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience acquired through extensive experience.
  • Highly developed collaborative and partnering approach to stakeholder management.
