Education & Community Partnerships Officer
Location: Parramatta
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 30/06/2021
Hours of work: 7 Hours per day and 35 hours per week
 
 Accountabilities:
  • Assist with developing and implementing the annual community education plan, events calendar, and create 90-day work plans.
  • Deliver Sydney Water’s tours program to a range of audiences to achieve learning and positive reputation outcomes at water filtration, wastewater treatment, and water recycling plants.
  • Deliver the field trip component for Sydney Water's staff induction program.
  • Deliver professional training to teachers, lecturers, and other educators to improve their knowledge of water education.
  • Recommend, deliver, and monitor high-quality education and training programs at the Water Recycling Education Centre, including the use of video conferencing, multimedia systems, and hands-on learning activities.
  • Deliver other high-quality programs and oral presentations aligned with the community education and education strategy and annual business plan.
  • Develop and provide advice on resources to support community education programs, including developing and editing website content and learning material for Smartboards, tablets, and other interactive learning tools.

Your background:
  • Demonstrated experience running tours and/or excursion programs that involve translating complex concepts to achieve learning outcomes.
  • Proven experience in managing large groups (up to 30 individuals) 
  • Demonstrated extensive experience delivering and monitoring education programs for education sectors that have delivered learning, 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing, and editing a range of resources (eg online, print, multimedia) that support learning and positioning for an organization and explain complex concepts and information.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating volunteers to support organizational programs.
